Not sure if this is the correct place for this thread, but it seemed the most likely. If not I apologize.I just bought a PCMCIA card reader and installed it in my Compaq EVO400 desktop at work. I have the need to program a flash card from time to time so I thought that this would be a good solution. The reader is PCD-TP-110CS, made by Amtron Technology. I installed it an available PCI slot as per the instructions and when I restarted my computer windows installed the necessary drivers for the TI controller. Everything looked fine at that point. The card I need to program is a linear flash card made by Smart Modular Technologies.

It is FL64M-20-11737-J5. I have used this card several times before in a laptop that had the PCMCIA reader built in with no problems. In order to program the card I am required to use the third party software made by the same company, called FlashTools 2000. I installed the software with no problems and it automatically assigns a driver to use with the card. (Centenial Linear Flash Card driver)Everything was good up to this point. When I insert the card into the reader and start the FlashTools program it will recognize the card but I cannot do anything else with it. The reader will not read the card at all.

This is a new Smart Modular Technologies 256MB Industrial Compact Flash Card. Its model number is SG9CF256HYA2IBALCC. This item comes as pictured and does not include any additional parts or accessories.
If I go into device manager the card is listed with a yellow exclamation mark and the following error code:This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12)I've checked everywhere in the resources and the card is not even showing in there. I can see the Texas Instruments controller listed but I don't see any other devices that would be causing a conflict.I've tried everything that I can think of to get this thing to work. I've removed and reinstalled just about all of the device drivers. I've moved the PCI card to a different slot. Been through the troubleshooting wizard a number of times and searched throughout the internet for some possible solution, but nothing yet has worked. My setup is an Intel 2.4 with 1GB ram, running XP Pro. I'd really like to get this working.
If anybody has any ideas please help me out here.Thanks.Randy.
